Overview

The Carbon Robotics Laser Weeder™ uses advanced robotics, computer vision, AI/deep learning, and lasers to eliminate weeds with sub‑millimeter accuracy—without herbicides. It supports farmers by reducing environmental impact, promoting soil health, and addressing labor shortages and rising costs.

This Field Robotics Engineer will ensure customer success by implementing, supporting, and maintaining Laser Weeder equipment. Responsibilities include training operators, scheduling maintenance, communicating with growers, and liaising with engineering and product teams.

Responsibilities
  • Train operators and farm personnel on safe and effective use of Carbon Robotics equipment.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for assigned accounts.
  • Learn and explain every facet of equipment usage—from transportation and maintenance to field utilization and operation.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and prioritize bi‑weekly maintenance tasks on laser‑weeding systems.
  • Own quality of work and project management scheduling.
  • Report immediately to Support and Operations Management any event, condition, or circumstance that could injure employees, damage equipment, reduce customer confidence, or impair service.
  • Recommend improvements to support processes and equipment reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and report weeding quality issues in collaboration with support.
Measures of Performance
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all support stakeholders.
  • Plan, organize, schedule, and supervise work activities.
  • Develop detailed knowledge of laser‑weeding systems and associated components.
  • Perform maintenance tasks at a high level in alignment with support, product, and engineering teams.
  • Participate in meetings related to support and performance of the equipment.
  • Enhance the company's reputation by ensuring Field Service Teams have necessary resources.
  • Provide high‑quality training to incoming Field Service Technicians.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams.
  • Communicate clearly across platforms with diverse stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects and solve a range of technical, personnel, and customer‑related problems.
  • Document issues and processes effectively.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 5+ years of agriculture experience working with growers and farming equipment.
  • Sales acumen: deliver compelling demonstrations and address technical questions to facilitate sales.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building rapport and trust with growers and dealers.
  • Mechanically inclined; troubleshoot and repair laser‑weeding equipment.
  • Computer‑literate: install/update software, upload logs, and tag images.
  • Adaptable in a startup environment with limited resources.
  • Comfortable driving a truck and trailer to transport equipment for demos and deliveries.
  • Travel required:

    50 % or more.
Salary

Base pay range: $82,000—$105,000 USD per year. Compensation is based on experience, skills, and job duties.
