Full-time, onsite HR Coordinator role to build and run core people processes for a ~30-person personal injury law firm.

This is the firm’s first dedicated HR hire who will establish, operate, and continuously improve the employee lifecycle—owning onboarding, reviews, handbook management, HR knowledge, benefits administration, records, and internal communications.
- Build and run foundational HR programs and processes
- Balance policy development with day-to-day execution
- Maintain confidentiality and a high attention to detail
Onboarding and Offboarding:
Own pre-boarding, day-one setup, systems and access provisioning, orientation, and 30/60/90 follow-ups; coordinate with IT, Operations, and Practice Leads (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Zoom, Slack, knowledge tools); execute compliant offboarding (access removal, property return, exit documentation, final pay considerations).
Employee Review Program:
Administer bi-annual and 30/60/90 review cycles (calendars, templates, reminders, tracking, file retention); partner with managers on feedback quality, goal setting, and documentation standards; monitor participation rates and development outcomes.
Handbook and Policy Management:
Maintain the Employee Handbook and policy library; draft updates and route for approval; publish changes, communicate firm-wide, and track superseded versions; monitor Washington and Oregon employment laws and recommend updates.
HR Knowledge Management:
Curate self-service “how we work” content; standardize SOPs, checklists, and templates (offer letters, discipline forms, review forms); enforce version control and metadata (effective dates, owners, review cycles).
Benefits and HR Administration:
Coordinate open enrollment and new-hire benefits; support eligibility changes and life events; liaise with brokers and vendors; maintain plan summaries and required notices; maintain confidential employee records (employment, pay, PTO, leaves, training); support leave administration (FMLA, PFML, ADA) with escalation as needed.
Compliance, Confidentiality, and Risk:
Uphold strict confidentiality; ensure secure records and access controls; assist with audits and reporting (I-9, EEO, applicable safety requirements); maintain required postings and acknowledgements; support investigation logistics (scheduling, documentation).
Culture, Communication, and Enablement:
Draft clear HR communications (policy updates, schedules, benefits reminders); support recognition moments and onboarding touchpoints aligned to firm values; provide timely, accurate, and empathetic employee support.
QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Business or HR preferred; general bachelor’s degree acceptable)
- 2–6 years of experience in HR coordination, HR administration, or operations supporting HR processes
- HR certifications (SHRM-CP, PHR) and/or project management certifications (PMP, CAPM) are a plus
Working Knowledge:
- Onboarding/offboarding, employee records, reviews, benefits basics, and leave administration
- Strong writing and editing skills for SOPs, templates, and handbooks
- High integrity, discretion, and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint or equivalent, Zoom, Slack, and HRIS platforms such as Bamboo
HR, Rippling, or Paychex
Preferred:
- Professional services or law firm experience
- Familiarity with Washington and Oregon employment practices
- Experience with HR knowledge systems and basic metrics or reporting
- Primarily onsite in Richland, WA for day-to-day HR coordination and office coverage
- Limited hybrid flexibility post-ramp based on coverage needs
2025 Pay Range: $60,000–$75,000 annually, commensurate with experience and scope
