Overview
GM and Food (General Merchandise, Closing, Fulfillment, Inbound, Food and Beverage) (T0830) role s posting describes the responsibilities, qualifications, and other information for the General Merchandise Expert position.
Responsibilities- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks.
- Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs when assistance is required.
- Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target.
- Execute daily tasks to achieve business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and placing promotional signs for GM areas.
- Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified.
- Execute processes such as changing prices, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and maintaining inventory accuracy as directed.
- Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
- Be knowledgeable about total-store resources, products, and services to solve guest issues and improve their experience.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; work safely and report hazards.
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (e.g., picking and packing orders or delivering pickup orders) while complying with applicable laws and policies.
- All other duties based on business needs.
- You enjoy interacting and helping others, including guests and fellow team members.
- You thrive in a fast-moving, active environment where teamwork, flexibility, and problem solving are key.
- You are open to flexible work schedules with varying hours or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak times).
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
- Ability to communicate using multiple devices and operate scanners and other technology as directed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving to resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.
- Ability to stay focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks within time frames.
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
- Ability to climb ladders and handle merchandise safely.
- Frequent lifting or moving up to 44 pounds without additional assistance.
- Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable attendance.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions while performing duties such as Drive-Up or carryout.
- Mobility for the duration of a scheduled shift.
