Position: URGENT: Nanny
Location: Fort Frances

Hello! I’m a single parent in Fort Frances looking for a reliable and caring nanny/babysitter for my 8-year-old son. I work casual 12-hour shifts (7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. and occasionally 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.), attend full-time online school, and am in the process of securing a second part-time job. Because of this, I need dependable childcare outside my son’s school hours.

We live in a pet-free, smoke-free home. This position is live-out and part-time, ideal for someone flexible, patient, and experienced with school-aged children.

Hours Needed:

• Before school (early mornings) on certain days

• After school until early evening

• Evenings or late nights as needed

• Some weekends

• Occasional extended care for full 12-hour shifts

• Occasional short-notice care when unexpected shifts arise

Since my job is casual, I usually receive and choose my shifts 1–2 weeks in advance, so most scheduling will be planned. However, I may need occasional last-minute support.

Responsibilities:

• Provide safe, caring supervision for an 8-year-old

• Engage in games, crafts, outdoor play, or other age-appropriate activities

• Prepare simple meals/snacks (my son has specific preferences, but they are easy to make)

• Light housekeeping to keep common areas tidy

• Support after-school and bedtime routines

• Communicate reliably and arrive on time, especially for early mornings

Requirements:

• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Experience with school-aged children

• Responsible, patient, and dependable

• Reliable transportation

• Comfortable with a mix of planned and occasional short-notice shifts

• Must be comfortable in a pet-free home

Compensation:

• Starting at $18/hour, depending on experience

• Higher rate available for overnight care or full 12-hour shifts
