Enhance workplace safety with West Red Lake Gold Mines as a Safety Leader at the Madsen Mine. This position focuses on mitigating risks and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Reporting to the Safety Manager, this role entails overseeing safety practices and adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act. You will conduct inspections, support safety committees, and develop training materials to promote a culture of safety at the site. This position operates on a 14/14 rotation providing flights and camp accommodations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct weekly workplace inspections with supervisors
• Participate in accident investigations and documentation
• Document safety tour results and follow-up on issues
• Develop job task procedures and training modules
• Conduct safety inductions and meetings
Requirements:
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or 5–10 years mining experience
• Supervisory experience is beneficial
• Certification in Ontario Common Core desired
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Valid Class G driver’s license required
