Position Description
Lead and contribute to a variety of Electrical Engineering projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment. Apply advanced technical knowledge in the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems for commercial and institutional buildings, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, and control systems. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and quality oversight while guiding junior staff and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
Position Responsibilities- Manage and execute Electrical Engineering projects focused on building services, including power, lighting, fire alarm, security, and control systems.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, calculations, and project documentation.
- Conduct load calculations, system analysis, and performance assessments to ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant designs.
- Lead coordination with clients, consultants, architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure effective project delivery.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate staff, promoting technical growth and professional development.
- Support project management tasks, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, codes, and municipal requirements.
- Contribute to proposal development and business development initiatives through client engagement and technical input.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in Electrical Engineering for building services, supported by a degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution and registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). The role requires 10+ years of relevant experience in the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems for commercial and/or institutional buildings. Candidates should be proficient with design and modeling software such as AutoCAD and Revit, and have a thorough understanding of applicable building codes, standards, and industry practices.
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills are essential, with proven experience mentoring technical staff and managing multidisciplinary projects.
This position is classified as full time. Rate of pay will be commensurate with related experience and qualifications ($ per year +).
