Position: Water/Wastewater Operator Position available

Become a Water/Wastewater Operator with Keewaytinook Okimakanak and contribute to essential water service operations in remote First Nations. This role combines technical expertise with regulatory compliance.

In this diverse position, you’ll oversee the operational maintenance of water and wastewater systems serving communities such as McDowell Lake and Poplar Hill. Your responsibilities will include routine checks, equipment repairs, and sample collection to ensure systems are functioning efficiently. You will work independently and liaise with various stakeholders to promote compliance and foster positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform operational and maintenance tasks at facilities

• Monitor and adjust treatment process performance

• Collect regulatory samples and conduct lab tests

• Maintain documentation for performance compliance

• Participate in the on-call rotation and troubleshooting

Requirements:

• Class II Water Treatment Operator Certificate required

• Class I Wastewater License preferred

• Knowledge of safety and health standards

• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities

• Experience collaborating with First Nations communities
