Pit Mining Superintendent

Position: Open Pit Mining Superintendent Role
Location: Red Lake

Be the driving force as an Open Pit Superintendent at Kinross, Great Bear in Red Lake, Ontario. Ensure the safe and efficient operation of open pit mining activities including drilling, blasting, and operations management.

As a senior leader, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of mining to achieve production goals. Your extensive experience, which includes at least 3 years in a supervisory role, will guide the operational teams in maintaining safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. You are tasked with developing short to medium-term plans aligning with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise open pit operations for safety and efficiency

• Lead team coordination and operational planning

• Oversee budget management and cost control strategies

• Conduct performance monitoring and improvement measures

• Foster a safety culture within mining teams

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in mining engineering or related discipline

• 10+ years progressive mining experience

• Senior supervisory role experience required

• Demonstrated leadership in mining operations

• Strong understanding of mine planning and scheduling
