Diabetes Foot Care Registered Practical Nurse

Location: Sioux Lookout

Become a key player in diabetes care as a Foot Care Registered Practical Nurse for the Sioux Lookout Diabetes Program. Assess, plan, and provide essential nursing interventions to clients in need.

This role involves following the College of Nurses of Ontario standards while delivering care. You will prioritize and organize workload demands, collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and provide advanced foot care to clients. Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills and have a commitment to serving remote northern communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide advanced foot care to diabetes patients

• Complete 1,200 foot care visits annually

• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure quality care

• Adapt to rapidly changing health situations

• Maintain consistent attendance and travel as required

Requirements:

• Certificate of competence as a Registered Practical Nurse

• Current Basic CPR certification

• Advanced foot care certification (preferred)

• Minimum six months of relevant experience (preferred)

• Effective communication skills for patient and team interactions
