Reporting to the Manager Northwest Regional Renal Program with a matrix report to the Coordinator Renal Services, you will be responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients, including complex patient populations whose outcomes are not predictable. As part of a multidisciplinary health care team, you will practice within the Professional Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Philosophy of patient and family centred care, mission, vision, values, and the policies of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

• Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario, or the ability to become licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current certification in BCLS.
• Recent experience in Renal Nursing, with a preference for Hemodialysis experience, with experience in the care of complex patient populations focusing on dialysis nursing.
• Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized care planning and delivery.
• Ability to identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responses and take appropriate action.
• Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions.
• Strong interprofessional and communication skills.

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• Have the Nephrology Certification (CNephC).

As a proposed designated position under the French Language Policy (HR‑esa‑12) Level 2 – French, language skills are required according to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre's Oral Proficiency Scale.

Salary Range: $41,150 to $58,980 per year. The Health Sciences Centre ensures the safety and security of patients, visitors, employees, and assets. All offers of employment are conditional upon a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check where indicated, full vaccinations approved by Health Canada, and adherence to the Hospital's Code of Conduct. Regular attendance is imperative; applicants must demonstrate a good attendance record.
