Store Operations Associate (Full‑Time)
We are looking for friendly, motivated people who enjoy helping people and being part of a team. The Store Operations Associate will provide high‑level customer service and manage day‑to‑day operations within assigned departments.
Responsibilities- Ensure a high level of customer service in assigned departments.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations, including training and communicating policies and procedures to department associates.
- Resolve SKU, pricing, and other operational issues; print signs and labels; operate RF units.
- Complete ordering and replenishment of merchandise.
- Supervise a team within the assigned departments while fostering cross‑functional collaboration.
- Ensure execution of the GT System (policies, procedures, standards) by all associates.
- Conduct analysis of assigned area and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Lead merchandising activities and follow best practices when receiving and processing merchandise.
- Participate in inventory management activities, such as cycle counts.
- Provide input to the Store Owner/Manager on scheduling and quantification.
- Resolve customer complaints quickly and professionally.
- Open and close the store on a rotating basis.
- Engage with the store’s local community.
- Support the store owner/manager on additional tasks and projects.
- Ensure health and safety policies and guidelines are followed.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout work area.
- Follow loss prevention best practices.
- Ensure compliance of all policies when selling tobacco and lottery items.
- Proven motivator and team leader.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with employees, customers, vendors, and third parties.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
- Strong merchandising and analytical skills.
- 1–3 years of retail management experience or equivalent keyholder experience at Giant Tiger.
A typical full‑time schedule consists of day shifts, two evenings per week, and alternating weekends, totaling 35–40 hours weekly. Part‑time schedules include a mix of days, evenings, and weekends, up to 24 hours weekly.
Physical Demands- Stand, walk, bend, twist, and squat.
- Lift and move up to 18kg (40lbs).
- Perform tasks requiring firm grasping and repetitive hand motions.
- Reach above shoulder height and below waist level.
- Annual salary: $42,848.
- Store bonus plan: 10% of annual salary based on store performance.
