Sioux Lookout Traditional Healing Aide

Location: Sioux Lookout

Support traditional healing at the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority as a Healing Aide. Play a crucial role in providing culturally safe care while enhancing community wellness programs.

As a full-time permanent Aide, you will assist Traditional Healing Practitioners in various support tasks.

Your role involves working closely with Elders and collaboratively with a dynamic health team. This position requires a deep respect for First Nations culture and a commitment to community-focused programming.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Traditional Healing Practitioner in delivery

• Assist in programming tasks for community healing initiatives

• Develop traditional and non-traditional support networks

• Work effectively within a multidisciplinary health team

• Facilitate culturally safe practices in community engagement

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of related experience needed

• Knowledge of First Nations dialects an advantage

• High school graduation or Indigenous studies diploma

• Comprehensive understanding of First Nations culture

• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
