DZ Driver

Position Overview

GFL Environmental is looking for a DZ Driver to be based out of Fort Frances. The driver will haul customer waste from industrial, commercial, and institutional sites and perform container delivery and industrial roll‑off routes. The role involves mounting and dismounting a 10‑ton DZ vehicle numerous times each day and may require occasional operation of an F/E truck.

• Satisfy customer needs for service.
• Ensure service is completed in accordance with established policies.
• Perform daily pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.
• Complete assigned routes provided by the Operations Manager.
• Drive to customer sites, secure bins on truck, empty bins at transfer station, and return bins to customer sites.
• Check‑in at day’s end to ensure complete and accurate paperwork.
• Ensure routes are completed on time and safely.
• Follow protocols while dumping loads at municipal recycling/waste facilities.
• Climb ladder on truck to tarp loads and lift/attach roll‑off hook to bins (requires bending and ability to lift 25‑50 pounds).
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager.

• Completion of high school. Post‑secondary courses or a diploma would be considered an asset.

• 1–2 years driving experience in the transportation sector.

• Experience driving manual transmission.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong customer focus.

• Proven ability to multi‑task and prioritize tasks.

• Knowledge of electronic devices (e.g., tablets, EO , company 10‑4 phones).

• Knowledge of industry is an asset.

• AZ license is an asset.

• Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required. GFL does not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
