Electrical Controls Engineer role at Visko Teepak in Kenosha, WI.
Reports To:
Plant Director. Shift and specific hours: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm with flexibility/overtime.

Responsibilities- Work with the Maintenance team as the subject matter expert for PLCs, VFDs, and plant operating systems; resolve production equipment issues and drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with machine operators, supervisors and managers to troubleshoot and optimize control systems and automation technologies.
- Maintain programming, troubleshooting and optimization of control systems and automation for production processes; lead/participate in new automation projects and upgrades.
- Monitor electrical, electronic, and mechanical control systems for proper and efficient operation; initiate corrective actions as necessary.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical activities with Maintenance and Operations teams; perform periodic maintenance and equipment changeovers.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues on production equipment and applications; recommend and implement improvements for equipment reliability.
- Maintain parts inventory and control documentation, equipment manuals, and other related information; oversee supplier work to ensure proper installation and repair.
- Adhere to plant safety guidelines and promote safe practices among team members.
- Collaborate on special projects or equipment upgrades as part of cross-functional teams.
Skills and Abilities
Required
- BA/BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, a combination of education and experience, or 10+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- In-depth understanding of electrical, electronic and mechanical control systems, including PLC programming (Allen Bradley controllers highly desired).
- Proficient with Rockwell Automation software; ability to program and troubleshoot electronic and computer-based control systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics; basic understanding of engineering design and calculations for electrical and electronic systems.
- Effective communicator with demonstrated ability to solve issues in a team environment and to serve as a technical leader and trainer.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders, stand for long periods, and perform stooping, bending, and twisting.
- Working outside in varying weather conditions may be required.
- Personal protective equipment will be provided by the Company, including glasses, goggles, welding masks, gloves, aprons and hearing protection.
- Appropriate PPE, in accordance with NFPA regulations, is required.
- The workplace is air-conditioned, heated and well lit.
