Maintain and ensure that all equipment and machinery is capable of running safely and with a Zero Defect Quality approach at all times. Maintain the building and grounds so they are presentable and safe.
Essential Functions- Respond to down equipment quickly and efficiently, returning it to a production‑ready state.
- Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance activities as scheduled.
- Initiate and implement safety, quality, or efficiency improvements to existing equipment and processes.
- Assist with installation, start‑up, and qualification of new equipment.
- Review equipment technical documentation to update preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and time spent using Red Zone.
- Set up and change over equipment as necessary.
- Work closely with production to resolve technical issues promptly.
- Maintain clean and orderly work spaces and the maintenance shop.
- Train machine operators as needed.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude from trade school or relevant experience.
- Basic electrical knowledge and willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with all positions, employees, and shifts.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- In‑depth knowledge of plant operations and production equipment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of a maintenance spare part management system.
- Ability to initiate and coordinate plant equipment and facility projects under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
- Capability to machine parts using lathes, mills, and welding equipment according to specifications.
- Experience with Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out procedures.
- Basic arithmetic and blueprint reading skills.
- Ability to work safely with hand and power tools.
- Proficiency with measurement devices such as tape measures and calipers.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. and perform activities such as lifting, bending, standing, climbing, and walking.
- Air‑conditioned or heated facility with adequate lighting.
All employees are responsible for the safety and quality of Visko Teepak products. Any safety issues must be reported to the supervisor immediately. Employees receive proper training to perform this job using appropriate sanitation and food‑safety procedures.
