Overview

Responsibilities
  • Set up and maintain the Cafe with minimal supervision; provide exceptional guest service by welcoming guests and ensuring they are well attended at all times.
  • Track and collect payment for Cafe items for hotel guests and walk-ins.
  • Maintain relationships with peers, other hotel/restaurant departments, and current and prospective guests.
  • Assist with the essential job functions listed as typical responsibilities, which may be modified or revised; perform other duties as required.
  • Work hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; welcome and provide personalized service to all guests.
  • Assist guests by taking orders, suggesting daily specials, and maintaining cleanliness of tables, dining and production areas.
  • Attend to guest needs and requests; be knowledgeable about the cafe’s menu items and beverage selections.
  • Know about the entire property, services, hours of operation, locations, and nearby places of interest.
  • Prepare and maintain the dining area and supplies in a guest-ready atmosphere; prepare foods such as fruit and coffee drinks or smoothies.
  • Stock coffee, juice, and soda cooler; arrange food in the pastry case and inform kitchen when items need to be restocked.
  • Wipe spills and maintain cleanliness of all appliances, espresso machine, and counter space during the shift.
  • Clear and clean tables as they are vacated; inspect cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silverware prior to use.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures; perform other duties related to cafe preparation, setup, and service.
  • Maintain inventory of all products daily; twice weekly, take inventory and submit completed order forms to the kitchen.
  • Operate point-of-sale and inventory software; generate KOT (Kitchen Order Ticket), add modifiers or remarks, and settle paid items.
  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning checklists; assist with closing duties, including storing reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning equipment and areas, and returning equipment to proper locations.
  • Work as part of a team in areas such as cleaning, side work, food preparation and storage; close out shift by cleaning and restocking for the next day.
  • Additional duties related to cafe preparation, setup, and service may be required.
