DescriptionThe Registered Nurse promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with patients, physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members.
Temporary, part-time position, anticipated to begin June 3, 2026 and extend through August 15, 2027. Successful candidate will be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities- Organize, problem solve, apply critical thinking, and make decisions.
- Demonstrate application of role in Code situations (e.g., Code Blue).
- Communicate with patients, families, physicians, staff and community partners.
- Observe and record patient behavior and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Operate medical equipment competently.
- Perform diagnostic tests within scope of practice.
- Safely administer medications and treatments.
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Diploma/degree from a recognized college/university, BScN preferred.
- BCLS, ACLS, and NRP certification.
- PALS/ENCP certification.
- Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias certification, defibrillator certification.
- 15 Lead ECG interpretation certification.
- TNCC/ATLS, CTAS course.
- Palliative Care education and Critical Care course preferred.
- CAN Gerontology, Med/Surg, and/or Cardiovascular certification preferred.
- Experience managing delirium in acute care/post-acute care setting preferred.
- Two years related nursing experience in acute care setting preferred.
- Working knowledge of Cerner software and related peripheral hardware preferred.
- High degree of physical effort.
- High degree of mental effort and analysis.
As per ONA salary scale.
