Nurse Practitioner MRP; Part-Time

Thames Valley Family Health Team is looking for a Nurse Practitioner (MRP) to expand a Primary Care Action Team. The role will be initially located at 1051 Wonderland Rd. South in London, Ontario.

The Thames Valley Family Health Team is one of the largest family health teams in Ontario, supporting over 169,000 patients with more than 125 physicians across 21 sites in London, Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin counties.

The Nurse Practitioner will serve as the primary care provider to an individual panel of patients and function as a member of the broader primary care team, delivering accessible and essential primary health care services. The NP provides care to patients—including individuals, families and the community—throughout their life span, emphasizing health promotion, patient education and disease prevention.

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Work to full scope, including ability to prescribe controlled substances as authorized by CNO without restrictions.
• Two years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.
• Council of Ontario University Program in Nursing Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program Certificate (or recognized equivalent).
• Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing required;
  Master of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Current Membership with RNAO or NPAO and evidence of professional liability insurance.
• Solid understanding of the roles and responsibilities of Most Responsible Practitioner (MRP).
• Demonstrated experience in a community and/or primary care setting.
• Availability to work extended hours, including after‑hours clinic.
• Availability to follow up on critical value lab results after hours by telephone.
• Work is completed on site; this is not a hybrid work position.
• Reliable transportation to allow travel between sites as needed.
• Practice at full scope with Most Responsible Provider (MRP).

• Knowledge and proficiency in evidence‑based primary care delivery, with an emphasis on health promotion and risk reduction.
• Strong leadership, organization, research, evaluation, time‑management and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with EMR, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Desire and ability to update knowledge and skills through technology‑based opportunities, courses, workshops and conferences.
• Multi‑tasking skills related to efficient primary care delivery, including the ability to share information and teach while treating a patient.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to be open and non‑judgmental.
• Knowledge of the organization’s goals and structure.
• Commitment to leverage other Interprofessional Healthcare Providers in the care of the patient panel.

$56.63 - $69.06 (based on years of experience).
