Academic Records and Transfer Coordinator

Kent State University is hiring an Academic Records and Transfer Coordinator to manage the lifecycle of student records, from transfer credit articulation through permanent record retention. The coordinator evaluates externally earned credits and keeps records compliant with university, state, and federal policies, including FERPA and Ohio Department of Higher Education requirements. The role also serves as a primary liaison for students, faculty, and staff on enrollment and record transactions.

• Evaluate externally earned credits and advise on credit transferability across all university campuses.
• Process and research academic records and documentation under university, state, and federal policies.
• Maintain student data integrity and the documentation needed for internal and external audits.
• Test and prepare databases for system implementations, upgrades, and transfer articulation table updates, and resolve reporting or processing issues.
• Collaborate with administrative offices and academic departments on accurate academic data and registration services.
• Guide team members, help supervisors plan workflow, and support cross-training across service areas.
• Hold a bachelor's degree plus one year in a registrar's office, or an associate's degree plus three years, or five years of related experience.
• Know FERPA and university, state, and federal policies, with strong data entry, spreadsheet, and Microsoft Office skills.
• Starting salary range of $37,843 - $40,000.
• Work Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, or another schedule agreed with the supervisor.
