We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Building Official to join our team of professionals. This position offers a great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self‑staters to work on a variety of work assignments. You’ll be a member of our highly respected team of professionals with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.

• Responsible for meeting all state and locally mandated code compliance and reporting requirements.
• Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to the day‑to‑day functions of the building department.
• Serve as the primary liaison with our clients in this area and ensure delivery of the highest level of customer service.
• Attend department and community meetings as required by the client.
• Perform plan reviews (both commercial and residential) in all trades.
• Provide inspection support as needed.
• Supervise building department staff.

• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of local building code regulations, policies and procedures.
• Have solid computer skills and experience using MS Office programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exercise initiative and display independent judgment.
• Be self‑directed and self‑motivated.

• OH Commercial Building Official (CBO) (Lvl
  5) or Comprehensive Code Official (CCO) (Lvl
  6) certification required.
• OH Residential/Limited Commercial (RLC) (Lvl 2 or
  3) plumbing and/or electrical specializations preferred.
• Level 2 (RLC – RPI) or Level 3 (RLC – PI).
• Level 2 (RLC-REI) or Level 3 (RLC – ESI).
• Additional OH certifications are a plus.
• Inspection experience required.
• Client and team management experience in a building department setting preferred.
