Manufacturing Production, Machine Operator
The primary function of a Sandblast and Painter is to prepare and finish metal with primer and paint.
Essential Functions: (The reason the position exists is to perform these functions; non-essential, ancillary functions should not be listed here).
Description:
- Prepare metal for sandblast and paint
- Perform sandblast and paint operations
- Follow all safety rules and guidelines; ensure safe operation of all equipment
- Use measurement devices to measure & record sandblast profile, primer & paint wet & dry mill thickness
- Perform daily maintenance routines on paint prep and blast equipment
- Clean blast booth and lights, and conduct any routine upkeep and maintenance as required
- Keep blast and prep area picked up and free of steel, tools, and other debris
- Follow safe operating and lifting procedures for overhead cranes
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment according to safe operating procedures
- Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Qualifications, Education, Knowledge, Training,
Work Experience:
- Willingness to work in a gritty environment
- Ability to effectively work as part of an integrated team environment
- Work area is clean and orderly
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, including on weekends
Physical Demands and Environment:
- Manufacturing environment with loud noises and other environmental and safety hazards present
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must have the dexterity to handle various objects necessary to complete the essential functions
