Overview
Retail Assistant Store Manager at Goodwill Industries of Akron
, OH. The role supports the Store Manager in all areas of duties and leads retail staff in donations, processing, and sales. We seek goal-oriented individuals who are interested in career development resources and serving the community while building their career.
- Assist the Store Manager in all areas of duties and responsibilities, including initiating the interview process by reviewing applications, scheduling employees, and assisting in performance appraisals and disciplinary action recommendations.
- Direct, supervise, and train retail staff in donations, processing, and sales.
- Operate the cash register and point of sale system accurately and efficiently.
- Perform opening and closing procedures, banking procedures, daily reconciliation, and make nightly cash deposits as needed.
- Prepare reports such as donation counts, daily business statements, deposits, cash drawer balances, and complete monthly store audits.
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs.
- Able to operate cash register, perform stock duties and provide customer service.
- Ability to drive and carry a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Previous supervisory and training experience in customer service with retail or food service is highly desirable. Knowledge of cash register procedures, stock control, banking procedures, merchandising, and display is a plus.
You must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required, including at minimum two closing shifts per week.
