Salary: $23.96 - $25.04 (6 month rate)
Basic FunctionInstall, program, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair energy management computerized systems. Reports to Energy Management Supervisor or other designated supervisor.
Examples of Duties- Install, program, monitor, and maintain Direct Digital Control System components to include sensors, transducers, controllers, and network devices in campus buildings; troubleshoots system, identifies problems, and implements changes to system; adds, modifies and deletes computer programs for all energy management systems.
- Provide training and technical assistance; instruct maintenance staff and students in the use and operation of direct digital controllers.
- Coordinate and facilitate transition to energy management system in departments, interacts with faculty, staff, and students (e.g., explains energy management principles and procedures, schedules installations, etc.).
- Contact appropriate personnel when failures occur; coordinates communication between Building Automation Center and maintenance staff.
- Plan, implement, monitor, evaluate, and upgrade energy saving programs (e.g., Demand Limiting Program, weekly scheduling).
- Assist with coordination of construction projects affecting energy management systems to ensure conformance with University standards; consults with engineers and architects, assists with planning, review and selection of vendors, and adoption of specifications.
- Maintain inventory; purchase replacement parts and orders supplies; compile and maintain records and reports.
- Train and direct work of student employees or employees in lower pay grade; may participate in training new employees.
- Perform related duties as required.
High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of three years experience in building automation systems to include repair and troubleshooting of DDC controls (or equivalent combination of education or experience which provides comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities).
License/CertificationValid Ohio driver's license with safe driving record.

Working Conditions /Physical Requirements
Exposed to dirt, dust, odors, fumes, electricity, variable temperatures and weather conditions, heights and potentially dangerous equipment (e.g., air handlers); requires moderate physical effort to include frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds (e.g., spools of cable), climbing, and extended periods of bending, standing, and stooping; may work varied hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays; may be called to work in emergency situations;
requires on- and off-campus travel.
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; however, schedule may vary to meet departmental needs.
