Freelance Site Manager School Refurbishment Project (6-Week Summer Contract)

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee a school refurbishment project during the summer holiday period.

Contract Duration: 6 weeks (Summer Holidays)
Start Date: July 2026
Location: Ashford, Kent
Rate: £250- £260 per day

About the Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a refurbishment project within a school during the summer holiday period. The successful candidate will ensure works are completed safely, on programme, and to a high standard, while coordinating subcontractors and maintaining excellent site records.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations and subcontractors.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and site procedures.
• Monitor programme, quality, and progress of works.
• Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular inspections.
• Liaise with the client, project team, and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation.
• Ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Essential Requirements

• SMSTS qualification.
• CSCS Manager Card.
• Valid First Aid at Work certificate.
• Current Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Proven experience managing refurbishment projects.
• Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and work independently.

Experience delivering refurbishment projects within schools or other educational settings is highly desirable.
