Junior Estimator
Salary: £32,000
Location: Kent
Construo Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established construction company to recruit a Junior Estimator to join their growing team.
Based in Folkestone, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with early estimating experience to develop their career within a supportive environment. You will work alongside experienced estimators, assisting in the preparation and management of tenders across a variety of commercial construction projects.
Projects typically include strip‑out, refurbishment, and fit‑out works across sectors such as education, retail, industrial, and housing, with values ranging from small works through to £2m.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and coordination of tender submissions
- Set up and manage project tender folders and maintain bid tracking systems
- Review tender documentation to ensure all required information is received
- Attend site visits to support the tendering process
- Identify missing information and raise queries with clients or consultants
- Carry out accurate quantity take-offs with a strong attention to detail
- Support the enquiry process for subcontractors and suppliers
- Track and manage incoming quotations and responses
- Ensure deadlines are met and documentation is kept up to date
- Previous experience within a construction estimating role (minimum 1 year preferred)
- Around 3 years’ experience within main contracting or the wider construction industry
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Office packages
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade 5 or above), including Maths and English, or equivalent qualification
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend site visits
