Accounts Payable Assistant

Our client, a dynamic organisation based in North Kent, is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their finance team in a newly created role.

Duties will include:

Review, validate, and match invoices with proper coding and supporting documents

Prepare and execute timely vendor payments to meet agreed terms

Check vendor statements and AP reports for accuracy and consistency

Keep financial records complete, organised, and up to date

Investigate and resolve discrepancies in invoices or payments

Provide clerical assistance and support audits within the finance team

Help onboard new vendors and maintain strong working relationships

The successful candidate will:

Have previous experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role, with a good grasp of fundamental accounting principles

Be highly accurate and thorough in processing financial information

Be able to prioritise tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines efficiently

Have strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with vendors and internal teams
