Shape the Future of SLT Services in East and West Kent

Are you passionate about teaching, mentoring, and helping others thrive? Do you want to play a central role in developing the next generation of Speech & Language Therapists while maintaining your own specialist clinical practice?

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join our friendly, supportive adult community SLT team in Kent. Following the retirement of the current post holder who established and shaped this position, we are looking for an experienced SLT to continue their legacy and drive forward clinical development across our service, making the role their own.

About the Team
  • Friendly and supportive colleagues who value collaboration.
  • Regular in-person team meetings to stay connected and share learning.
  • Strong commitment to supervision, mentoring, and CPD.
  • Part of an outstanding community trust with a reputation for innovation and quality care.

Please note, this vacancy does not meet the criteria for skilled worker sponsorship and therefore, we are unable to accept applications from candidates that cannot provide documentary evidence of right to work in the United Kingdom.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and coordinate clinical development for Band 5 SLTs (pre- and post-preceptorship) across all localities, providing tutorials, coaching, joint sessions and day‑to‑day support, involving travel to different parts of east and west Kent at times.
  • Work closely with team leads and managers to monitor progress and ensure high‑quality supervision.
  • Support other SLTs in return‑to‑practice, international recruitment, or significant role changes.
  • Deliver training workshops for staff, including Band 4 competency development.
  • Balance development responsibilities with your own clinical caseload of adults with acquired swallowing and communication disorders in the Thanet Dover Deal locality.
  • Offer assessment clinics, group and individual therapy in outpatient, domiciliary and care home settings.
