Company:
Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust
Please note:
at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare. Nursing vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses.
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Nurse and Paramedic Practitioners to join our Urgent Treatment Centres in Folkestone and Deal.
Our Urgent Treatment Centres provide high-quality urgent care for patients with minor illness and injury, offering walk-in and NHS 111-referred appointments 365 days a year. Working alongside experienced Nurse and Paramedic Practitioners and GPs, you will play a vital role in delivering timely care closer to home and helping patients avoid unnecessary attendance at Emergency Departments.
We welcome applications from experienced practitioners who are ready to take the next step in their career, as well as ambitious candidates seeking a supported development pathway.
Development opportunities are available from Band
5.Successful development candidates will receive structured training, clinical supervision and competency support, progressing to Band 6 on completion of agreed training, competencies and examinations. Further progression to Band 7 will be considered once established within a Nurse/Paramedic Practitioner role and able to demonstrate the required leadership capabilities. More information available if required.
Applicants should be Registered Nurses or HCPC-registered Paramedics with experience in urgent or emergency care settings such as A&E, MIU or UTC. Advanced practice study, practitioner training and A&E radiology (Red Dot) experience are desirable.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a skilled multidisciplinary team delivering urgent care services across Folkestone and Deal Urgent Treatment Centres. Full and part-time opportunities are available, with services operating between 8am and 8pm, seven days a week.
As an autonomous Nurse or Paramedic Practitioner, you will assess, diagnose and treat patients presenting with a wide range of minor illnesses and injuries. You will be confident in clinical decision-making, able to think on your feet and committed to delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care.
The role offers a varied and rewarding workload, including assessment and treatment of patients aged one year and above, requesting and interpreting X-rays, wound closure and management, use of Patient Group Directions and supporting patients to remain independent within their community wherever possible.
As a senior member of the team, you will contribute to the ongoing development of the service through clinical leadership, mentoring and supporting colleagues, participation in supervision frameworks, development and review of clinical guidelines and shared responsibility for maintaining high standards of practice across the service.
Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust is due to integrate with Medway Community Healthcare on 1 October 2026. Following integration and to align our community services to the new Neighbourhood Model of care delivery, there will be a period of consultation which may result in changes affecting some services, teams or roles. Depending on the area you are applying to work in, this could include potential changes to your role, work base, reporting arrangements, or terms and conditions of employment.
Any changes would be subject to consultation and managed sensitively and in line with relevant employment processes. Please do contact the recruiting manager if you have any concerns about this so they can answer any questions you might have.
