Recycling Assistant at FCC Environment – Salary £12.71 per hour plus benefits.

40 hrs/week on a shift pattern.

As a Recycling Assistant at FCC Environment, you will help deliver a safe, efficient and customer‑focused Recycling Centre service. You will support members of the public with their waste disposal, actively encourage reuse and recycling, and help maintain high standards across the site. This vacancy is for a full‑time position, working across a shift pattern to meet site requirements.

• Operate the Recycling Centre safely and efficiently in line with company procedures and contract requirements
• Deliver a safe and efficient Recycling Centre service
• Provide excellent customer service to site users
• Encourage reuse and recycling to maximise recycling rates
• Complete daily site inspections and maintain accurate records
• Record waste and recyclable movements using site systems
• Monitor container usage and reporting requirements
• Carry out plant and equipment checks
  
  Identify chargeable waste and follow the correct procedures
• Wear PPE correctly and maintain site safety standards

• Experience in a customer‑facing role is desirable but not essential
• Experience in waste, recycling or a Recycling Centre environment would be advantageous
• An interest in recycling, sustainability and reuse initiatives
• Excellent customer service skills
• A positive and proactive approach
• Good time‑keeping and reliability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work weekends and Bank Holidays
• Flexibility to work across Mid & East Kent Recycling Centres when required
