We are recruiting for an experienced Mobile Multi-Skilled Electrical Engineer to carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of healthcare facilities throughout Kent and Sussex.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically competent, electrically qualified engineer with strong building services and facilities maintenance experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining electrical systems, supporting mechanical building services, completing compliance checks and ensuring facilities remain safe, operational and fully compliant.

The position offers a varied mobile engineering role with a high degree of autonomy, allowing you to manage your own workload while travelling between multiple sites. You will work alongside site teams, specialist contractors and other stakeholders to deliver a reliable, professional and customer-focused maintenance service.

Healthcare or critical-environment experience would be advantageous but is not essential for the right candidate. We are particularly interested in engineers with strong electrical fault-finding skills, a good understanding of multi-skilled building services maintenance and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across electrical systems, equipment and associated building services.
  • Undertake reactive maintenance, fault-finding, diagnostics and repairs to minimise disruption to site operations.
  • Inspect, maintain and repair electrical installations, equipment and associated building services in accordance with relevant standards and procedures.
  • Identify electrical faults, investigate equipment failures and implement appropriate remedial actions.
  • Provide general building services maintenance across multiple healthcare facilities throughout Kent and Sussex.
  • Complete routine inspections, compliance checks and statutory maintenance activities in accordance with required schedules.
  • Support fire alarm testing, inspections and associated maintenance activities where required.
  • Carry out and support emergency lighting testing, inspections and remedial works.
  • Support water hygiene activities and associated compliance requirements in accordance with site procedures.
  • Assist with the maintenance and operation of air handling units (AHUs), HVAC systems and associated mechanical building services.
  • Provide multi-skilled engineering support across electrical, mechanical and general building services systems.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns, maintenance requests and engineering issues across the site portfolio.
  • Supervise specialist contractors and subcontractors undertaking maintenance, repairs and compliance-related activities.
  • Coordinate contractor access and ensure all visitors and contractors comply with site-specific requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with permits to work, risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with relevant Health & Safety legislation, industry standards and site procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, compliance documentation, inspection reports and completed work orders.
  • Update relevant CAFM systems and maintenance management records where required.
  • Manage planned maintenance schedules and ensure tasks are completed within the required timescales.
  • Travel between multiple sites throughout Kent and Sussex, organising daily activities and prioritising maintenance requirements effectively.
  • Develop positive working relationships with site teams, contractors, colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate professionally with site representatives, providing updates on maintenance activities, outstanding issues and remedial requirements.
  • Identify defects, potential safety concerns and recurring equipment faults, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Identify requirements for replacement parts, tools, materials and specialist contractor support.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency and service delivery.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, compliance and operational reliability within healthcare…
