Welder​/fabricator

As a Welder, Fabricator & Assembly Operative, you ll be responsible for manufacturing steel frames, doors, panels and associated products, working accurately from detailed drawings and specifications.

This is a hands-on shop-floor role where quality, consistency and attention to detail are key.

You ll be responsible for:

• Welding, fabricating and assembling steel products to detailed drawings
• Producing steel frames, doors and panel variants to specification
• Working on both project-specific and standard stock components
• Ensuring weld quality, consistency and integrity at every stage
• Self-inspecting your work to required quality standards
• Highlighting and recording any issues, variances or improvements
• Working to production deadlines and lead times
• Following all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
• Supporting general production and housekeeping activities when required
• Contributing to continuous improvement and quality initiatives
• Supporting internal quality audits when required

What you ll need

To be successful as a Welder / Fabricator / Assembly Operative, you ll bring:

• Proven experience welding, fabricating and assembling steel components
• Ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawings
• A methodical, quality-focused approach
• Confidence self-inspecting work and meeting quality standards
• Ability to work to deadlines in a production environment
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety
• A proactive attitude and willingness to contribute to improvements

Experience producing security, fire-rated or fabricated steel products would be advantageous, but not essential for the right person.
