Process Technician
Our client is seeking a Process Technician to join their operations team, supporting the safe, efficient, and compliant running of a large-scale energy and process facility on a rotating shift basis.
This role would suit an experienced technician or a developing operator looking to progress within a highly regulated industrial environment.
What you will be doing:
* Operating and monitoring plant systems including boilers, furnaces, turbines, waste handling, ash handling, conveyors, and water treatment
* Using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and/or SCADA to manage and optimise plant performance
* Carrying out front-line maintenance, fault diagnosis, and equipment rectification
* Completing operational logs and ensuring accurate shift handovers
* Supporting plant shutdowns, isolations, and safe systems of work
* Performing routine testing and ensuring safe start-up and shutdown procedures
* Supporting operational improvements, investigations, and corrective actions
* Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
* Supporting emergency response activities and safety inspections
* Contributing to strong housekeeping standards and plant reliability
What we are looking for:
* Proven experience in plant operations, process engineering, or maintenance environments
* Experience working with DCS and/or SCADA systems (essential or highly desirable)
* Practical experience with boilers, rotating equipment, or similar process plant
* Strong understanding of safe systems of work, risk assessments, and operating procedures
* Ability to carry out front-line maintenance and basic fault-finding
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a technical or science-based discipline (or relevant experience)
* IOSH Managing Safely qualification or willingness to complete
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CMMS systems
* Strong problem-solving ability and confidence working independently or as part of a team
* Flexibility to work shifts and adapt to operational demands
