What you will do
  • Caseload Management: Manage a caseload of children and young people in care, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
  • Assessment & Planning: Undertake assessments, visits, and develop care and risk management plans.
  • Safeguarding: Participate in safeguarding processes and child protection investigations.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong, trusting relationships with children, ensuring their voices are central to decision-making.
  • Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate with families, carers, and professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Advocacy: Represent and advocate for children in professional meetings and court proceedings.
  • Mentorship: Support less experienced social workers and students by sharing knowledge and expertise.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Experience working within Children In Care or similar children’s services teams.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
