Averro is seeking a mechanical focused Project Engineer for an exciting oil/gas client that designs and manufactures products and systems enabling the reliable deployment of clean hydrocarbon fuels worldwide. We are seeking someone that can execute the engineering and design requirements to furnish the deliverables set forth for each project in the sales contract. The Project Engineer defines the systems and the equipment described in the sales order;
and ensures that the systems comply with and function to customer specifications as well as all safety requirements and applicable codes. The Project Engineer undertakes the system design, implementation, factory acceptance test and commissioning phases of projects.
- Determines project specifications by reviewing product designs, proposals, customer requirements, performance standards and applicable code compliance requirements; completing technical studies as necessary.
- Defines and develops the engineering design plan and design requirements in the form of engineering deliverables.
- Participates in the development of a realistic and achievable project schedule by calculating time and resource requirements for engineering deliverables.
- Manages engineering design plan by conducting design reviews, monitoring progress of engineering deliverables and communicating areas of risk.
- Ensures that all team members, inclusive of any third parties, are provided with all necessary and relevant information - details of scope, schedule, technical specifications and quality standards – to effectively deliver their assigned work.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ yrs experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
- Strong background with mechanical design, calculations, component sizing, and selection.
- Experience as a Project Engineer or leading product development projects.
- Experience with heat exchangers, piping systems, high-temperature pressure vessels, and valves - preferred.
- Must have hands‑on mechanical experience & skilled with being able to dismantle and rebuild any mechanical component
- Heat transfer and thermodynamics principles
- Fluid systems; line, component and pump sizing
- Fan and blower sizing
- Combustion gas train selection and sizing
- Pressure vessel design – ASME section I, II, VIII and IX
- Materials [Compatibility (Ferrous, Non-ferrous, elastomers, etc.);
Corrosion;
Strengths] - Electrically hazardous locations
- PLC knowledge
- Computer:
Excel, AutoCAD and Solid Works
