Summary:

We are seeking a hands‑on Mechanical Engineer II with strong fundamentals and a manufacturing mindset to contribute to the design, release, and support of electromechanical products produced s role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys owning real hardware, working within and guiding engineering processes, and seeing your designs in the real world.

Practical and collaborative mechanical engineering with a strong grounding in core mechanical engineering principles. Motivated to grow technical depth while increasing responsibility and ownership.

Salary is $110,000 to $130,000 depending on experience.

Location: Kent, WA

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, model, and detail mechanical parts and assemblies using Solid Works, producing complete and accurate drawings and documentation suitable for medium to high‑volume manufacturing.
  • Apply mechanical engineering fundamentals (statics, dynamics, strength of materials, tolerance analysis) to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Perform and interpret engineering analyses (hand calculations, FEA, kinematic or thermal analysis as appropriate) to validate designs.
  • Participate in structured design reviews, incorporating feedback from Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities; define and document test plans and results.
  • Release designs through formal document control systems (PDM/PLM), including part numbers, BOMs, drawings, and ECOs.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing and Suppliers to resolve production issues, improve manufacturability, and support design for cost, quality, and assembly.
  • Contribute to sustaining activities by evaluating field issues, supporting root‑cause analysis, and implementing corrective design changes where required.
  • Manage assigned tasks independently while communicating progress, risks, and tradeoffs clearly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3‑5 years’ of relevant Engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in Solid Works and PDM for parts, assemblies, and drawings.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High proficiency in MS Office, Solid Works, PDM, FEA tools, PLM (any), ERP (preferably Net Suite).
  • Experience with electromechanical drive train design. AC and DC motors up to 5hp, worm drive reducers.
  • Understanding of hydraulic systems, schematics, design, and deployment preferred.
  • Knowledge of common manufacturing techniques and DFM:
    Metal forming, welding types, plastics molding and forming, printing, painting, corrosion protection, machining, extrusions, assembly automation, etc.
  • Prior experience in industries producing durable goods, industrial equipment, or electromechanical assemblies.
