Seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) for outpatient primary care clinic.
We are a fast-paced clinic expanding to Kent, WA and see a variety of patients including primary care, immigration physicals, DOT physicals, weight management, and more.
Administrative Duties:- Answer phone calls and send faxes efficiently and in a timely fashion.
- Patient scheduling and staffing logistics.
- Computer entry/Scanning.
- Collect co-payments from patients.
- Filing charts and reports both in electronic medical record and standard chart. Document all procedures and verbal/visual advice given to the patient or patient representative (required by law and Onestop Medical policy). File all loose clinical forms and documents in proper section of chart.
- Insurance verification and pre-certification.
- Schedule tests and appointments.
- Obtaining outside medical records/test results in a fashion that is compliant with HIPPA regulations.
- Assist providers and clinical staff with all requests for patients.
- Participate in daily pre-shift huddles.
- Make eye contact and greet every patient by name with a smile.
- Document and maintain immunization records.
- Assist Billing/Office Manager in correcting lab bills.
- Obtaining vital signs and weights of patients, taking medication histories, and preparing patients to be seen and evaluated by all health care providers working in the office
- Phlebotomy. In-office blood draw, point of care tests, and EKG testing
- Instructing patients on the use of home glucose meters and the technique of subcutaneous drug administration
- Safe administration of subcutaneous/intramuscular drugs and vaccines.
- Will need to read and understand all details regarding qualifiers and contraindications for any drug or vaccine administration, proper handling, and reporting measures.
- Downloading self-monitored blood glucose and blood pressure records, when applicable
- Maintaining an accurate log of medication samples and vaccine inventory
- Update prescription samples (discard any expired meds) and keep drug sample closets clean and organized.
- Clean exam rooms between patients and other common areas as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Must be BLS Certified
- Must have an active Washington MA Certification
- Hours per week: 20-40
