ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Safety Manager applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts, and manages all company safety programs. Leads management and employees alike on environmental health, ergonomic, and safety related opportunities; by providing support and technical assistance in the administration of and compliance with federal, state, local, and company Environmental Health and Safety requirements. Recommends, develops, implements, and monitors programs that maintain safe and healthy working conditions.

Promotes protection against accidents, environmental illnesses and injuries and assists in the communication and implementation of safety and environmental health procedures. Develops and maintains production training tools to orient new employees to Oberto and assist manufacturing management in the implementation of safety programs and policies.

SCHEDULE: Day shift position 8:00am – 5:00pm schedule is flexible

Wage: $ - $ annually, annual bonus paid up to 20% of your annual salary, subject to all required taxes and with holdings.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plans and implements safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local, state (DOSH) and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Leads and coordinates the workers compensation process, including partnering with the third-party administrator, HR, management, and the injured worker. In partnership with Operations, works to ensure the prompt return-to-work of any injured employee.
  • Identifies and interprets regulatory standards that impact operational exposures and business activities and guide needed plans to ensure compliance.
  • Leads the development of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) for employee job training. Manages all JHA document control activities.
  • Identifies and evaluates hazardous conditions and practices, developing practices and programs to correct and reduce their occurrence.
  • Reviews and analyzes company accidents and historical claim experience to identify frequency or severity problems and loss trends. Conduct improvement projects based on findings to improve overall employee environmental health and safety. Maintains, generates, and files OSHA 300 logs.
  • Develops, manages, and communicates best practices and tools that enhances compliance.
  • Conducts regular safety compliance audits and provides management reports outlining results and recommendations for improvement.
  • Partners with management to ensure the facility stays in compliance with DOSH and OSHA Standards.
  • Manages audit and incident corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence through relentless root cause analysis.
