- Provide accurate sign language interpretation during meetings and events.
- Continuously improve interpreting skills through professional development.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance service delivery.
- Utilize feedback to refine interpreting techniques and approaches.
- Prepare for assignments by reviewing relevant materials in advance.
- Track and report performance metrics to assess effectiveness.
- Engage in ongoing training to stay updated on industry standards.
- Assist in developing resources for deaf and hard‑of‑hearing clients.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss goals and strategies.
- Promote awareness of sign language and deaf culture within the organization.
- Proven experience as a sign language interpreter in professional settings.
- Will need OSPI cert
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Strong understanding of deaf culture and community dynamics.
- Excellent communication skills in both sign language and spoken language.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing training and skill enhancement.
- Experience collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Experience tracking and reporting performance metrics.
- Ability to prepare and review materials before assignments.
- Ability to promote awareness of sign language within the organization.
