Assistant City Attorney / Senior Assistant City Attorney – Civil Division
The City of Kent is seeking an experienced attorney to join the Civil Division of the Kent City Attorney’s Office. Responsibilities- Represent the City in civil matters, advising on legal issues that impact the community.
- Conduct legal research and prepare opinions, memoranda, and briefings for city leadership.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, ordinances, and municipal agreements.
- Collaborate with other city departments to ensure legal compliance and efficient government operations.
- Provide counsel on matters such as land use, environmental regulation, and public safety.
- Bar admission and good standing with the Washington State Bar Association.
- Prior civil legal experience, with a preference for municipal law.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Five (5) years or more of municipal civil legal experience qualifies the candidate for the Senior Assistant City Attorney position.

Senior Assistant City Attorney – Civil: $10,017.00 – $14,222.00 monthly (2025 rates)
