Quanex is looking for a Process Engineer to join our team in Kent, WA
A Process Engineer plays a crucial role in optimizing the PVC extrusion manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, quality, and productivity. Responsible for designing and implementing process improvements, conducting data analysis, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve process issues.

- Interact with production line personnel to determine process problem areas.
- Identify equipment that reduces costs and improves productivity, quality and safety.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to address scrap reduction and change‑over efficiencies, along with quality and productivity improvements.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional and cross‑plant teams to troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
- Provide technical support to production teams and assist in troubleshooting production‑related problems.
- Participate in new product development and scale‑up activities, including process design and equipment selection.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to process engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; applicable work experience will be considered.
- At least two years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within an extrusion manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing flows & processes.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Solid proficiency with a variety of computer systems and software applications, including CAD and MS Office.
- Solid professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
- Solid understanding and demonstrated use of statistical controls and GD&T, related to quality.
- Solid knowledge of OSHA safety standards and 6S processes.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
The salary range for this position is $68K - $101K w/ bonus potential.
