2nd Shift – (Monday – Friday, 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.)
Employees in this position use a variety of methods to process parts in preparation for plating and other coatings. The operators perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications. This is a trainee operator position in our Anodize department. Anodize Operators may be required to join the FAA Repair Station program, including the FAA Drug & Alcohol testing (initial drug test for THC with quarterly follow‑up).
Operations are performed in accordance with Military, Industry and OEM specifications.
- Work closely with experienced Anodize Operator to complete work and prioritize tasks for on‑time delivery.
- Follow technique card, customer purchase orders and drawings, and instructions from experienced Anodize Operators to prepare and process parts; document technique cards.
- Prepare parts prior to operations including racking; use proper tooling and fixtures when applicable.
- Legibly sign off on work once completed and after Operator Self Verification inspection.
- Review paperwork and conduct Operator Self Verification inspection to ensure all preceding operations were completed. Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance of any errors.
- Understand pre‑ and post‑cleaning surface finish requirements.
- Be familiar with Quality Assurance requirements and rework procedures.
- Understand engineering drawing notations.
- Observe safety precautions and prevent injury to personnel.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities such as Kaizen events.
- Maintain highest ethical standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- May be required to join FAA Repair Station program, including FAA Drug & Alcohol random selection pool.
- Required to participate in annual Hearing Conservation testing.
- Wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection and other PPE as required.
- Ability to train and positively influence others.
- Self‑starter, works independently or in team, collaborates with customers (internal and external).
- Excellent accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Can solve tactical and strategic problems arising in this position.
- Able to learn and use Lean tools and techniques.
- Multitasks effectively.
- Regular and dependable attendance record.
- Read/write/communicate in English with customers and auditors.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.; export license required for all facility areas.
- 1–2 years in manufacturing environment a plus.
- Lifts occasionally up to 63 lb, stands and walks frequently, sits occasionally, reaches from shoulder and overhead occasionally / from waist frequently.
- Bends, stoops, squats, crouches, kneels occasionally.
- Climbs stairs and ladders occasionally.
- Pushes/pulls frequently, pivots, twists, pincings occasionally.
- Grasps frequently.
- Sees/hears/feels constantly – hearing protection required.
Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles and metal‑finishing chemicals. Temperatures fluctuate with outside weather. Face masks required due to COVID restrictions.
Salary Range for position: $18.50 – $32.00 per hour
