GENERAL SCOPE
:
The Junior Mechanic is responsible for day-to-day production operations (performance) of all production lines and reports to the equipment maintenance manager.

Essential Job Functions
:
- Ensure all production lines are operating smoothly and efficiently throughout the day.
- Set up day's production according to Daily Production Plan
- Perform Machine set up and calibration for individual products along with alignment/adjustment as needed during ongoing production.
- Perform machine change overs on products.
- Monitor all packaging/raw material movements to designated production line.
- Responsible for full line inspections to find, fix and resolve any downtime.
- Assist in necessary preventative maintenance work on production lines.
- Monitor product inspections by QC personnel
- Perform shift turn over with next shifts EPS to discuss the events of the day and issues that were faced.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
:
- High School diploma or GED required
- HACCP and SQF certification or experience preferred.
- Works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees.
- Problem-solving skills; exercises good judgment in determining best method and procedure to be followed.
Experience
:
- Two (2) or more years of experience in production environment, manufacturing quality or other related field preferred.
- Experience with extrusion or packaging production equipment preferred.
- Or any combination of education and experience that provides the same expertise
