Note:
Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. Shifts are: 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 6:00 a.m.
- 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2:00 p.m.
- 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sun-Fri, 10:00 p.m.
- 6:30 a.m.).
Employees in this position use various methods to process parts in preparation for plating and other coatings. The operators perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications. This is a trainee operator position in our Anodize department. Employees in this position will process a variety of parts in our Anodize department. May be required to join the FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program*.
Responsibilities- Work closely with experienced Anodize Operator to complete work and prioritize tasks for On-Time delivery.
- Follow technique cards, customer Purchase Orders and drawings, and instructions from experienced Anodize Operators; prepare, understand, and document technique cards.
- Prepare parts prior to operations including racking; use proper tooling and fixtures, when applicable.
- Legibly sign off on work once completed and Operator Self Verification inspection has occurred.
- General review of paperwork and Operator Self Verification inspection of job to ensure all previous operations were completed; notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors.
- Have knowledge of pre- and post-cleaning surface finish requirements.
- Familiar with Quality Assurance requirements and rework procedures.
- Be familiar with engineering drawing notations.
- Be familiar with safety precautions and how to avoid injury to personnel.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to drive positive change in productivity, delivery, and service; be involved in Kaizen events as needed, either as a participant or supporter.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- May be required to join the FAA Repair Station program, including the FAA Drug & Alcohol random selection pool.
- Required to participate in annual Hearing Conservation testing.
- Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE as required.
- Demonstrated ability to train and positively influence others.
- Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, as a team, and with customers (both internally and externally).
- Excellent accuracy with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to solve tactical and strategic problems and issues arising in this position.
- Ability to learn and use Lean Tools and techniques to solve problems in this position.
- Ability to multi-task effectively.
- Must have regular and dependable attendance.
- Ability to read/write/communicate in English with customers and auditors.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; an export license may be required to work in all areas of the facility.
- 1-2 years in manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 63 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to stand and walk frequently.
- Ability to sit occasionally.
- Ability to reach from the shoulder and overhead occasionally; from the waist frequently.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel occasionally.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders occasionally.
- Ability to push/pull frequently.
- Ability to pivot, twist, pinch occasionally.
- Ability to grasp frequently.
- Ability to see/hear/feel constantly; hearing protection required when working in the area.
Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and fumes from metal finishing chemicals. Temperatures can fluctuate with outside conditions. Safety glasses and hearing protection are required. Due to current COVID restrictions, face masks are required.
Salary & BenefitsSalary range: $18.50 - $32.00 per hour.
