Assembler – Level 2 – 2nd Shift Mon‑Fri (2:00 pm – 10:30 pm)
Reworks and refurbishes wood crates using diagrams, cut sheets, and power tools as a production team member to meet customer specifications for quality and on‑time delivery. Uses crate labels and a computer system to organize inventory. Responsible for logging in and out of jobs in Ops Center (ERP system) and following production schedules. Adheres to safety and personal protective equipment requirements.

Work as a production team member, reworking and refurbishing wood crates to meet quality and delivery goals, while maintaining accurate inventory records and operating within safety protocols.
Essential Functions- Specification Checks
- Determine if any repairs, adjustments, or refurbishment work is needed by visually inspecting wood crates.
- Use a tape measure to verify measurements match the cut sheet within 1/8 inch.
- Read, interpret, find, and report possible cut‑sheet or stenciling errors.
- Organize Refurbishment Inventory
- Record and catalogue information on crate labels, including basic data entry.
- Use forklifts to move, organize crates, and unload/load trailers as needed.
- Wood Crate Refurbishment and Repair
- Repair damaged, worn, or illegible parts and stenciling on recycled Trans Pak crates.
- Safely use power tools such as nail guns, staple guns, power drills, grinders, and hammers to build crates of varying sizes; safe ladder use required when assembling crate caps.
- Track jobs using production software and other site‑specific production line paths.
- Assemble bases or skids on the ground, crouching or kneeling, and handle heavy 3.5‑inch nail guns weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Apply adhesives and foam to wood crates according to specifications.
- Safe and Efficient Facility Team Member
- Report all equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain a safe working environment.
- Speak up when observing unsafe conditions or practices.
- Follow standard operating procedures and work efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks safely in a fast‑paced production environment.
Housekeeping such as sweeping and disposing of scrap foam, lumber, or other miscellaneous items. Perform other related work as assigned.
Education, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- At least 6 months of experience in carpentry, construction, or related work with power tools.
- Basic computer skills needed to log in and out of jobs with employee identification number.
- Ability to learn new software.
- Bi‑lingual strongly preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail preferred.
