About the Position

The Quality Assurance Engineer designs, implements, and improves systems that ensure robust quality measurement and control across all Oberto production operations. This role evaluates and monitors process and production data to verify that products, processes, and documentation consistently meet established quality and regulatory standards. The Quality Engineer also drives continuous improvement by identifying trends, resolving quality issues, and supporting cross‑functional teams in strengthening overall product integrity.

Schedule: Approximate schedule is 5 days a week 7:45 am – 4:45 pm (times may vary depending on task demands).

Wage: $77,000.00 – $90,000.00 annually, subject to taxes and with holdings.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Maintain the sensory evaluation program, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Manage the customer comment system and lead investigations into customer concerns.
  • Develop and maintain process specifications to strengthen quality plans and ensure consistent product quality.
  • Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods to monitor quality systems and report trends.
  • Identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities across the facility, working independently with Operations leadership.
  • Resolve complex quality and food safety issues using engineering principles and system knowledge.
  • Conduct thorough, fact‑based root cause analyses for significant quality and food safety events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to execute projects, address issues, and improve processes.
  • Organize, analyze, and visualize quality data using tools such as Power BI.
  • Develop and deliver training on QA systems; provide guidance in product evaluation and QA activities.
  • Maintain QA databases and records; manage QA requests and ensure timely follow‑up aligned with quality objectives.
  • Lead meetings and communications regarding QA system performance, concerns, and updates.
  • Prepare and publish weekly, monthly, and quarterly metrics; communicate findings at all organizational levels.
  • Mentor team members in QA data analysis, trend identification, and reporting.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High School or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Background in food science or related science area; a degree in Engineering, Food Science, or Life Sciences is preferred.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI preferred.
  • Understanding of HACCP.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Proactive teamwork with diverse groups.
  • Diplomacy and analytical problem‑solving ability.
  • Detail‑oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work with urgency and prioritize work.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • English competency.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Climbing stairs and other physical work as needed.
  • Willingness to work in varying temperatures.
  • Handle weighting items under 25 lbs or move objects safely with proper body mechanics.
  • Talk, hear, and smell frequently.
  • Reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Vision (close and distance) and ability to adjust focus.
