Quality Assurance Inspector

Location: Kent, WA

Pay: $22-27/hr

Schedule: M-F 7am-3:30pm

Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for inspecting materials, components, and finished products to ensure full compliance with specifications and aerospace quality standards. This role uses fixed or preset measuring instruments to verify materials meet required tolerances for quality and workmanship. The Inspector also supports internal control procedures, assists with root‑cause analysis, and contributes to corrective action processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Examine company records to collect information such as product dimensions, weight, and results of quality tests.
  • Inspect products to determine compliance with order specifications, internal quality systems, legal requirements, and packing/shipping standards.
  • Perform material receiving inspections, first‑article inspections, in‑process inspections, and final part inspections.
  • Complete and maintain non‑conformance reports.
  • Provide backup support for the Lead Quality Inspector as needed.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with data analysis, reporting, and tracking company metrics.
  • Help follow up on corrective actions to ensure timely completion.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one year of related experience or training in inspection, quality, or manufacturing.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in the use of inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, optical comparators, and CMM equipment.
  • General knowledge of quality processes and familiarity with AS9100 standards.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to work with quality documentation and reporting tools.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts including geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and statistical principles.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, legal documents, and detailed specifications.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to respond to customer or regulatory inquiries.
  • Capable of presenting information effectively to management, public groups, and organizational leadership.
