Customer Service Rep, Retail Associate/ Customer Service

Responsibilities- Essential Job Functions:
Cashier/Checker is visible, greets, engages and assists customers. - Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
- Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures according to company policy.
- Understand and adhere to the company’s limits on cash shortages and/or overages and work honestly to control loss.
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
- Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notifying store management.
- Inspect equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of items needing repair.
- Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products sold within the department and storewide.
- Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Ability to manage conflict in a professional and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Minimum Position Qualifications:
Customer service experience. - Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
- Customer service experience.
- Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.
