The Route Sales Support Driver builds solid, positive working relationships with customers and is highly motivated to exceed their expectations and requirements. Vestis operates in a very competitive environment and successful “RSSs” must balance exceptional customer service with meeting and exceeding individual sales growth goals. As advocates for the organization, RSSs strive to generate goodwill and loyalty while performing their work in a professional manner at all times.
Responsibilities/ Essential Functions
- Safely operate a company step van in designated area to provide products and service to a variety of clients.
- Verify daily preventative maintenance of vehicle and maintain proper operator documentation.
- Manage daily route independently to ensure accurate and timely delivery of product.
- Load and unload product per company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Review invoices daily for complete and accurate information and make corrections as needed.
- Meet sales goals and promote overall route growth to enhance profitability.
- Develop leads/prospects, call prospective customers to solicit business, prepare service agreements, and install new accounts.
- Assist the sales organization with procurement of additional new business.
- Possess a strong understanding of services, policies, and pricing methods and communicate these clearly to customers.
- Monitor customer feedback and handle customer issues in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Take responsibility for personal safety and watch out for safety of others.
- Use safe precautions, proper tools and equipment, and adhere to all safe work practices and policies.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the activities enumerated above.
- Minimum 21 years of age, valid driver’s license, and excellent driving record.
- Customer service experience with a wide variety of consistent customer contact.
- Strong math and basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated experience selling services/products and generating new business (preferred).
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and think quickly to identify/solve customer concerns.
Exposure to adverse and varying weather conditions which may include extreme hot/cold temperatures depending on geographical location. Fast‑paced environment sometimes requiring irregular and long hours.
- Must be able to routinely lift and maneuver a minimum of 25 lbs. and load/unload product from truck without assistance.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and maneuver 50+ lbs., and this position requires bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching.
Vestis offers a wide array of comprehensive benefit programs and services including medical, dental, vision, and pension. Employees are eligible for 40 hours of vacation, 16 hours of floating holidays, and paid sick time every year. Employees will also receive 6 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
CompensationThe hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.86 to $23.86, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
