Compensation range: $31.00 - $33.50 per hour
The base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. Actual total compensation will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.

Location: Kent, WA
Shift: Day shift, Monday - Friday
The Lead Installer leads project teams of the highest complexity in the installation of system furniture at customer sites. The Lead Installer serves as a main point of contact for both performing installation and directing installation teams. Plans work flow, directs work of installers, resolves installation problems, and manages all administrative paperwork. Works closely with customer to ensure customer’s satisfaction with the installation
Essential Functions- Effectively installs all types of commercial office furniture and can properly install 45 panels/components per day with little or no supervision.
- Performs all needed tasks to stage the job site including lifting/carrying all materials to the site (includes stair carries as needed)
- Effectively works with installation packages (including blue prints, elevations, typicals and specifications)
- Accurately complete and submit required paperwork, i.e. Timesheets, Merchandise Return Forms, Delivery Tickets, Change Orders and Punch Lists in a timely manner
- Properly disassembles and reassembles all systems furniture regardless of manufacturer
- Properly installs all forms of wall attachments (i.e., white boards. Egan boards, wall channels, panel attachment brackets, etc.)
- Understands which fasteners to use, how to install and fix locks, and how to use metal touch up paint
- Creative solutions to resolve problems that emerge during the installation. Aware of Company/Steelcase resources and how to use them effectively when solving problems in the field
- Assists with project clean up and ensures the installation is ready for customer use
- Provides leadership for installation teams on projects with significant complexity
- Consistently brings projects in, on-time and under budget
- Oversees and provides direction for projects of any size and complexity including directing the work of installers
- Provides training for installers (and temps/contractors) in the correct methods and resolution of installation problems
- Monitors work of installers to ensure proper installation
- Maintains Company standards, clean work environment and ensures proper safety requirements
- Model and communicate standards of conduct for installations and interactions with customers
- Performs project preplanning including developing planning work flow and staging, determining manpower and equipment requirements
