Job Title

HVAC Service Technician

Install, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including units, piping, coils, compressors, fans, and related equipment. Perform start‑up, testing, commissioning, and preventative maintenance on a variety of HVAC equipment and support building mechanical systems.

• Install new HVAC units, brazing, line sets, trimming refrigerant, and adding charge.
• Install piping systems, including drain piping, p‑traps, water lines, gas lines, valves, and actuators.
• Install coils, compressors, condensers, fans, motors, combustion equipment, and industrial air compressors.
• Perform start‑up, testing, and commissioning on RTU’s, air handlers, VAV’s, fan‑coil units, swamp coolers, and other commercial HVAC equipment.
• Test lines, components, and connections for leaks, brazing and soldering as necessary to repair defective joints.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment such as vacuuming, cleaning, changing filters, and oiling parts.

• 5+ years of experience maintaining similar type and size commercial equipment, with a current Universal CFC certification.
• Experience with ladders, roofs, and attics.
• Ability to operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Understanding of basic electrical circuits, disconnects, electric valves, low and high voltage wiring.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently in isolated areas.
• Knowledge of safe operation of hand tools, equipment, and testing devices.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Physical ability to stand, sit, squat, lift up to 50 lbs., and work at extended heights.
• Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection.

$55.24 - $76.43 per hour

Provided through local labor union aligned with the collective bargaining agreement.
